Our Story

Sometimes positive things can result from tragedies. That's how I Care KY started.

In 2014, Martha, Martha, and Molly learned that a former co-worker had been killed in an intersection collision. They discussed the fact that they each had observed numerous "near-misses" at intersections and decided to see how they could help reduce the number of intersection crashes.

Over the following year, the three identified the skills needed to form an organization that would raise intersection safety awareness. They talked with key community leaders and established a board of directors who then worked to form I Care KY.

In January 2016, it was official, I Care KY was approved as a 501(c)3 organization.

I Care KY has a clearly defined purpose: For our families and friends to come home safe – every day. Our vision is to be the leading Kentucky volunteer organization focused on intersection safety. We do that by collaborating and educating to instill personal responsibility.
